will these fit a stock 2003 Ford F250 superduty 4x4, I have 285/75/16 on right now but theve only got about another 10,000 left on them, so I thought if I could i'd try a bigger size
If your 285's don't hit and you have a fair amount of clearance check the tire width spec with your 285 against the 315. Eventhough the 75 maybe a narrower tire say compared to a 70 in the same size the 315 will be wider still.
I had 315/75r16 tires on my '04. They rubbed the left inner fender liner at full left turn, and occasionally would rub the springs. Overall, I found it to be pretty tolerable after I did a little trimming of the liner with a knife. I drove the truck with those tires for over 70,000 miles.
Oh yeah, my truck had the heavy service suspension package, so it sat a little higher in the front than my dad's 2000 which doesn't have that package. I'm sure that helped with tire clearance.
was your truck stock, 70,000 miles what kind of tires did you have on it, I have Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ and Ive got 47,000 on them right now with another 10,000 at least left on them which is way better than I was told I would get with them.
Yeah, my truck was stock. Funny you ask about the tires. When I went to get them I didn't have the cash to buy something like BFG's, so I went with a generic brand all terrain with a pretty aggressive tread. I didn't expect them to last very long because they were about $650 mounted and balanced. I totalled my SD in January (hit some black ice on the interstate and did a barrel roll). At that time I had about 72,000 miles on the tires, and I bet there was at least another 10-15k left on them. There was still plenty of tread left above and beyond the wear indicators.
The tires were Trail Mark Radial APR's. I don't think there is even a website for them, but if I still had my SD, I would have put another set just like them on it.
ok so I just seen that you have the bigger shocks on the front would they fit on the front with stock or maybe if I put a leveling kit on it
Basically the front springs gave it 1.5-2 inches more ride height in the front than standard springs. If your truck has the standard springs, it would probably rub worse than mine unless you upgraded the front springs or added a leveling, like you said.
