Last i heard it was about $2000 for tha tailgate with the manstep and grab handle. Expensive yes and i dont think that included the cam either.
HOLY CRAP!!!! That makes the $350 for the option sound like a steal. I wonder how much a backup camera adds to that. No wonder those dillhole thieves like to steal tailgates.
One dealer tried to sell me a truck with that step tailgate. Aside from the fact that I have no use for it, it made the tailgate unusable for sitting on.
The tailgate on my new truck is defective. I have to bring it back.

I thought the same thing about the tailgate step and then decided that if im spending $40+k on a truck why not add the man step. I can sit on mine with no problem. I do a lot when im playing with my rc cars.

Like Bsimmer, I don't have any issues sitting on my tailgate. The grab handle blends into the countours of the tailgate liner really well, and the step itself slides up into the lip of the tailgate.
Last weekend, we just popped up the handle and used it as a "handle" (of all things) while riding around the campground scarfing firewood from departing campers.
