I had my 2005 ford f250 trans flush done at the dealer in Greeley Colorado .I told the dealer that I wanted the two filters changed and the transmission flushed. I drove the truck home and seen that the work order shoed merc 5 w/o filters . Called the dealer and asked them why the work order said merc 5 and w/o filters. They said that it was a typo . I look ed under the truck and the filter housing by the radiator had no oil residue and was dirty with dirt and salt from the roads. When you remove the filter housing should some oil leek on the housing? And the pan gasket and blots were not marked up or oil stained and had road dirt on them. I think I got taken. Please give me some feed back I hope that they didn’t put merc 5 in and if so how can I tell? I have 80 miles on the flush now what should I do?
Well I would have to say force them to prove what was really done or do the service again and watch them do it. Go to the service manager and raise a fuss. Likely nothing at all was done. Is there a state agency in Colorado you can go to if they refuse? Did they provide the old filters for your inspection? You might want to make a mark on the filter and housing you can identify to see if it was really changed. Also mark the pan bolts to see if the have been removed. I have always done this in the past. Eventually they catch on that you are not a customer to bs.
They won't drop the pan for a flush. The internal filter doesn't need to be replaced- according to Ford and some knowledgeable guys here- unless the trans is being overhauled. The external filter should be changed, though. I'd get some clarification on the external filter and the Merc 5 asap.
The external filter is on the RH front in the small aluminum housing....sound correct?
Yes the cup-shaped aluminum housing that has a nut molded into the bottom of it. That's where the external filter is, the first thing shown in palm428's video, on the pass. side front. Most use an impact to remove it, I used a ratchet and just held on to the housing with my other hand as it will flex pretty good.
No, it is not. The part #s are:

well I ran up to the dealer on Monday and talked to the service manger . I told him that I know that the filters were not changed and would like him to take a look at the filter housing and oil pan . They called the guy form the back that did the flush and he said that he forgot to change the filters .I told them that I just wanted things right and the filters changed due to I spent $180 on a flush and changing the filters are cheap insurance. I met them half way I paid for the filters at cost and watched them dump the oil with under 200 miles. Not bad for $60.00 for two filters and oil .They also promised me that they put sp oil in when they flushed the first time. Thanks for all your help Ford Truck Enthusiasts members.

Personally since you had to waste your time going back and waiting for them to do it right, I don't think you should have had to meet them anyway. I definitely would be calling Ford customer care and making a formal complaint and let them know that you are doing it. May prevent them from ripping someone else off. If they billed you, the jerk doing the flush had to write off the labor and esp. the parts and materials used. Everything now is computerized unless this dealership is in Mayberry.
You didn't meet them half way since you already paid $180. So you met them 150% of the way. Their screw up shouldn't have cost you extra money. The $180 includes filters and the correct fluid. Sorry but you got robbed. I would never return to that dealer. Especially if someone can "forget" to change the filter.
