Well guys, I finished it up this morning. The only problem I had was I stripped one of the bolts on the pan while taking it out. Go figure. Besides that is was a piece of cake. I used a suction tube to suck out most of the fluid before I TOTALLY dropped the pan!! My oil wasn't too dirty. It had a few brown clouds in the fluid!! The only thing I thought was weird was that I couldn't find a magnet to clean out. Also there was no metal shavings in my fluid at all!!!:-)
Also that tranny shifts much smoother. No slippage at all. Like some of you said might happen.
I'm going to go ahead and change my transfer case fluid next. I will let you guys know how that one turns out!!!
P.S. oh yeah, just like to say thanks to everyone that gave me all thE great advice to make this drain a sinch. THANKS A BUNCH GUYS!!!!
Think they started adding them later. I always put a couple extra ones in. That plastic strip magnet isn't that powerful. On an interesting note, the later A4LD came standard with a spring in one of the valve passages to trap chips from manufacturing. Rebuild kits come with this spring in case it isn't allready there. Doesn't that give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.
