The Warranty Plate is located on the left door face below the latch.
After 1975, the Plate has the YEAR stamped on it-second line.
The VIN's last six digits are the serial number, which denote what year the truck is.
However...some peeps replaced the left door due to damage, and did not swap over the correct Warranty Plate.
This means the VIN on the Warranty Plate will not match the VIN on the registration, and...the codes (AXLE, TRANS, etc) on the Warranty Plate will not be correct.

With all due respect it looks like junk, maybe some of the the sheet metal is salvageable, good luck with that, these dents are still out there, just not always in a salvage yard, i see many passing along my back roads and farms but the old guys just wont part with them, it's just getting these old trucks before their heirs crush them for scrap metal.
Considering that there's no cylinder head on this engine, the truck's not going anywhere under its own power.
I know man,we're just joking around.lol.The manifolds ain't bolted up either, and I don't see a carb. And i'm pretty sure that alternator is bad,as well as that engine is probably froze from all the water seeping in it.There ain't no way it'll starts without being torn apart and rebuilt, and I highly doubt that's even possible.

yeah, there may be some good good sheet metal on it.
Wish my truck was that nice!
Just push the accelerator to the floor so you can push some gas through the carburetor so you can start it.
Just be care-ful not to flood it.
I have heard those engines are very good, and hold there self's well.
You should have no problems getting this truck to start.
Let us know when you get it started if the truck makes any weird noises,or smokes,or burns oil.
If you are assuming it is an explorer by the stripe my 75 F250 Ranger trailer special had those stripes and was not an explorer. It also had those mirrors which I dont think were made after 76.
