American Chopper

Any "American Chopper" viewers here? if so did you watch last night, you think Paul Jr. is fired for good or was it just fabricated to make good television? i personally think it was the latter but then again i'm a cynic so what do i know...

I figured they canned that show a few years ago. I used to watch it... but it became less and less about throwing bikes together, and more about throwing stools through windows.

I am 100% with you here Rich. I got digusted when they moved to the new shop and smashed up the office by driving the Explorer through it.

I cant stand a cheating man so I lost interest before the 'drive" thru crap. It seemed to me they lost their edge a long time ago and they quit doing something they loved and wre good at and followed the yellow brick road to stardom. If your heart doesn't light passions fire then the flame of passion will surely die. (I just thought that up,,,so kewl) They sold out is what they did. There will be another family to take their place doings something else.
I am into the repo show now and yes, Ace of Cakes. (duff is so cute)

I quit watching years ago too. The show was cool at first because it was all about the skill and craftsmanship of building the bikes, but as time went on it turned more and more into being the biker version of The Jerry Springer Show.
IMO, Axe Men and all those other logger shows are waaaaaay more interesting than American Chopper or American Hot Rod ever was.
Although I didnt see the episode, Id be willing to bet that Jr wont get fired. Theres been a million times that he should have been fired. Look at all the times he didnt show up for work, more or less because he just didnt feel like. Not to mention Ive heard he is somewhat of a cocaine addict. He wont get canned though, because he's Paul Jr and he can do no wrong. Sr may very well blow up at him every day, but thats all it is. I dont think he would ever fire him.

They got too big for their britches long ago, much more interesting when they were working in a small shop in the beginning.

I'm definitely with the majority of guys and gals here. This falls into the category of who gives a sheat!!!

That show was entertaining for the first season...but...after that...it became more about the Tuttles than about building spectacular bikes. They've taken their 15 minutes of fame and stretched it a long way!!!

x12 or whatever we're up to now lol. I used to watch it quite a bit but sort of lost interest a few years back.

Back in '04 the OCC guys were guests at the Carlisle Bikefest show in PA. We drove up to check it out and HOLY CRAP what a crowd. Traffic was horrible, there was a line that I know was at least 500 yards long to get their autographs. It was cool to see some of their bikes though....

Carlisle Summer Bikefest 2004

I also like Ax Men as well as The Deadliest Catch!

They should have quit doing the show 2 years ago. It seems the focus of the last couple of years is all fighting and very little of bike building. Now all you see is them assembling the bike and a lot of yelling.

I lost interest a long time ago too. They have become a waste of oxygen.

Amen brother, American Chopper is just another one of those "Reality TV" shows that I won't waste my time watching.

Ace of cakes - I like Mary-Alice... She is the cute one.

AX men is good. Except for this season the idiots on the river. Evidently the old man forgot 7Ps of good operations.

They lost me when Vinnie left.. though I did see this past episode(channel surfing).
I don't know what to make of it....w/out Paul jr's designs the only thing the "show" has going for it is Mikey and Rick.

I stopped watching it as well. It was real good in the beginning when they made good bikes and were small. Now they got to big, to popular and to smug for their own good. Must be nice to destroy your own stuff every so often (trucks, buildings, equipment) I prefer Jesse James. Thats why he stopped Monster Garage and the other show he was involved with. He wanted to stay out of the public eye and concentrate on his own stuff and not do popular crap. I went to his shop, unfortunatly they dont do any kind of tour, but I did get to see some pretty cool stuff.
