Neither my '01 Escape nor my '99 Buick Century are designed to run on e85, but I have heard arguments that they will run fine with 50% e85. I tried it in ny Buick 1st, and found that it runs great on 30% e85, and the performance drops noticeably with more than 30%.
The Escape doesn't seem to like it at all.
I will keep adding it to my Buick, trying to keep a few $ in here the midwest (and in my wallet).
Does anyone else have any experience with blending e85 into their tank?

Unless one has a "flex fuel" vehicle, thats designed to run on ethanol, Ford doesn't recommend anyting higher than E-10, (10%) Ethanol/ 90% gasoline.
Higher concentrations of ethanol can cause problems with metal, plastic, rubber, or composit components in the fuel system & as I understand it, most engine oils aren't compounded for high concentrations of ethanol either.
So seeing as how ethanol concentrations higher than 10% are't recommended for non flex fuel vehicles, that seems to put you into uncharted territory MMSCHWE!!!!

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is a recently established new standard for gasoline performance. Four of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, and Toyota recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.
Since the minimum additive performance standards were first established by EPA in 1995, most gasoline marketers have actually reduced the concentration level of detergent additive in their gasoline by up to 50%. Gasoline retailers must meet the high TOP TIER standards with all grades of gasoline to be approved by the automakers as providing TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.
In addition, all gasoline outlets carrying the brand of the approved retailer must meet the TOP TIER standards.
Additional gasoline retailers are added to the TOP TIER list as they meet the standards. The retailers known to be on the TOP TIER list are shown below.
