Unhappy Compressor working "24/7"

I got a expetidion 2003 5.4L. I notice that ac work fine but if I start to drive more than a hour the cool air start to flow slow. The other day I open the hood and found that all alimunim lines that go to evaporator are feezing. What can be? The most likely culprit is the cycling switch on the accumulator. Disconnect it and see if the compressor disengages. If so, the switch has probably failed.
There are other possible causes, but the cycling switch is by far the most common. It's less than $20 (about $12 IIRC).

If you have EATC the compressor can run almost any time, but the cycling switch should disengage the compressor as the low side pressure drops. You should notice that the compressor doesn't run very long, if at all, at low ambient temps.

To clarify, your cycling switch has failed in the "shorted/closed" position.
