Radio trim/bezel replacement
The trim has 2 metal tangs/prongs on either side of the radio on the top and 2 more on the bottom. To get this out I inserted a thin screw driver and pried gently until they popped out. It wasn't to difficult at all. The whole trim comes loose. Next, I put a dish towel under the bottom to cover the metal tangs/prongs so they didn't scratch the interior while I wrestled with the connectors.
This is the only tough part, disconnecting all the wiring. I beleive there is a total of 8 harness's to disconnect and each one is connected in a different way! I disconnected all the smaller ones first. Then I disconnected the heater dial which allowed me acces to the bolts (4) to disconnect the panel with the other dials on it. Then I bolted the assembly onto the new trim. It was a little tough to line up the heater dial and snap that back on so if there is a way the assembly with out disconnecting it I would try that first. The only thing to watch out for putting it back in is the cigarette lighter, that wire must go behind a little cut out, otherwise everything else just plugs back in. Then just line the trim up and slide it back in.
Oh yeah, I got the new trim off ebay for $11 shipped.
Total time about 1.5 hours. Most of the time was spent trying to disconnect the harness's and reconnecting the heater dial.
