so one week after getting my truck back from the doctor (heads, hgs, arp studs, egr delete) i am loosing coolant i pulled a 753 melroe bobcat 120km it pulled it great when i got to some fairly steep hills it had no trouble pulling it (1000 deg pyro) 25 pounds boost when i got to the job site i could smell antifreeze i popped the hood and it was about an inch lower than when i left after i opened the degass bottle i cant find any leaks and there is no white residue anywhere is it possible for it to just boil up under heavy loads this is the reason i went with brand new heads so i wouldnt be doing this again the truck is an 03 if that helps thanks in advance
a clogged up oil cooler can cause them to blow coolant out as well as a fan maybe a degas cap. Do you know if the trucks PCM is up to the latest calibration? the new update has a new cooling fan strategy.
The first place I would look if there is no smoke is in the motor valley for moisture. This orange hose was up graded to a blue one because it leaked.Page 74: Unique Service Procedures
after the truck warmed up i checked it and it was back to the full mark it seems like when it works hard the coolant level sucks down in the tank and it is the same when its cold do they all do that is that the purpose of the tank im probably just being paranoid i just dont want anymore trouble as far as the egr hose it was a blue hose that came with the egr delete kit and i cant see any coolant in the valey at all
