I have a 2005 Super Crew, with a 5.4L... Factory Remote Start and Security... I have put in 4 Starters, New Batt Cables, New Batt, New Alternator 2 days ago, and 2 Relays and it is still doing it!!!
Truck just turned 60K. Sometimes when I start it with Key or Remote Start the trucks will crank but will not throw out to engage the flywheel. Just makes that grinding noise, but before I can check it out it starts. Sometimes I need to jump it to start. FLYWHEEL IS FINE
Master Techs say until it does it who knows... Has anyone had this problem, and does anyone have a wire diagram???
PLEASE HELP ME!!! 603-867-6094 CELL ASK FOR JIM... ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIATED I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO?

Reason: UPDATE INFO
I believe I have the same issue. It only happens every once and a while, like maybe one out of every 40 or 50 times I start the truck. This has only happened to me 3 or 4 times and started around 60K miles as well. Right now I have 62K. I turn the key, the engine starts to crank and then it goes dead. Then when I try to start it again it will start up just fine. I don't know what the problem is but am interested in seeing what the others on this site think it could be as well.
I think it maybe a problem with the security module in the remote start. Or I could be wrong and its the ignition switch, or computer, or a caffed wire??? Someone please help.

Any particular diagram you had in mind (starting charging?) ? Iirc, I have quite a few engine management wiring schematic pages.
It wasn't like a dead battery in that you didn't hear the starter continue to click. Its really strange. Almost like I didn't turn the key far enough, but it has happened a few times and I'm certain that's not the issue.
I would like the Ignition Diagram... Would like it to show the Key transponder thing in the colum and everything it passes through to the kickpannel where the 12v trigger relay send power out to the starter silinoid in the starter.
I have elimated the Batt, Starter, Batt Cables, Alternator... I need to look between the Ignition Switch through to the Relay in the Passanger Kick Pannel. My best guess now is the Alarm/Remote Start security Module... But it is only a guess, and guessing has not worked out.
OK, mine did it again tonight. I tried to pay attention to everything and here is what i noted: The radio came on after it stalled so it doesn't seem like a battery issue. Also, the console read "Check Gauges". And of course, when i tried to restart, it did it with no problem.
