c-6 delay shift? 2nd-3rd.

82 f-150 4x4 351m After warmup I experience a delay in shift from 2nd to 3rd: under light throttle. Engine revs a bit and then shifts. All the vacuum lines seem to be in place. Seems to shift okay under more load.

Could be a sticking accumulator. Also, try a tranny cooler.

Could be a worn servo or the band needs adjusted.

adjusting the band won't help pull the vacuum line off the tranny to see if oil comes out. if not the cluches in the forward drum are on there way out and so is the band.

Try adjustable modulator if you already have one, turn screw in a turn try this band adjustment. Loosen lock nut turn adjusting screw while holding lock nut in till snug, turn adjusting screw back out 7/8-1 turn and hold while tightening lock nut. 3rd gear clutches could be worn the reason for the flare is second is releasing before 3rd applies the band adjustment will cover this up for a while.
