We are about to close the deal on a 03 V-10 CC FX4 with 52K, 4" procomp lift and 35's.. The lift and tires are only 5K old, so I dont think that was the issue..I got the OASIS back and the steering gear box has been replaced 3 times.. The owner called me today and said that the steering went crazy on it yesterday and he took it in to the dealer.. They replaced the box and it didnt fix it, so they put a new pump on it and it took care of the issue.. What in the world would cause a truck with 52K to need to have had the steering box replaced 4 times?? Ill summarize the OASIS below.. I mean what gives? This truck is immaculate.. The steering on these things is stone cold simple.. What in the world would cause this??

Road test, stering vauge in center and heavy on turns, check steering gear preload peak 5 7 lbs center peak. Torque 1.4lbs. Replace steering gear check and set toe in. Road Test OK

Other steering handling and ridet roubles. Power steering gearbox ports stripped and mounting bolt holes stripped.

Sounds like they should have replaced the power steering pump all along, and all they did was kept replacing just the box.

 

I also suspect the lift is putting some extra strain on the whole system.

 

All these issues were before the lift was even put on... Hopefully the pump took care of everything..
