The Question that Hasn't Been Asked...
Why did Ford label the Platinum's interior color black when it's really brown?

I don't get it.

Don't know but I've got brown skin and people refer to me as black.

it's because they do not go by the actual seat color when referring to the interior color.

It's black because it has black carpet, headliner, and other stuff.

Like the FX4 model, it only comes with black interior (black carpet). But you can get black or grey seats.

Using that logic, so when one specifies a black on black Corvette they're going to get brown seats because the carpet is black?

I think they do it, because its easier to allow manufacturing color differences... since we are talking about leather here. Each piece tans slightly differently.

again, it's just something that's unique to the Platinum to set it apart from the rest of the models, they happened to use the unique brown leather instead of black. The rest of the interior is still black so Ford calls the interior black. Brown is just the "accent" color.

so big whoop, you can't go and say I want/got a black on black Platinum just because it doesn't come with black seats.

are you serious, if i had a white truck i would kill for a white leather interior? If i had the change at the time i would have bought a 78 cadilac eldarodo biritz eddition that was white with a white vinal top, red carpet and dash and white leather seats. It was a sharp car but i didnt have the 5k last year, or this year for that matter. lol

I remember my father with his caddy's growing up with white leather int. Looked great when new but as it aged and dirt got in those creases. I wouldn't want it today.

I posted some photos of an old truck I had in the '09 regular cab' thread, and it had a white caddy bench seat swapped in it. I loved it.
