F250's and F350's had standard 3.55's with an option of 4.10's. I remember the F Super Duty trucks having 4.88 and 5.13 gears ratios. But no 4.56 (4.55?) that I am aware of.

What does your door tag say?

I could see it saying .L55, 98% of the time the first number is under the bolt head.

4.56 gears would top out at 65 MPH at 3300 RPM in direct drive.

Your profile says 1992, so is that an automatic(E4OD) or stick(5 speed)?

Whats your RPM when you burry the speedo - uh scratch that.

Whats your RPM when you are cruising at 70 MPH?

An E4OD with 4.55 gears and 235/85-16 tires should run 77 MPH at 2700 RPM in overdrive.

I know you can get 4.56 gears for the Dana, and since the Sterling and Dana are usually off by just a little, I am going to say it is possible.

Or another possibility is the axles are both Dana's.
