New windshield, now compass doesn't work

I had to get a new windshield and in the process they broke the rearview mirror. They have since replaced it with what looks to be the correct one except the compass display on the dash shows "--" instead of "N" or whatever.

Could it be anything else other than the mirror being installed wrong or defective?

is the sensor in the mirror?? or somewhere else.. (dash maybe) and when they installed the mirror they didnt hook up the sensor properly

The compass sensor, etc. is in the mirror. They either have the wrong mirror or installed it wrong or broke it.

There is a calibration process in your manual. I dont recall the specifics but you drive in a circle and calibrate the compass. Maybe it wont display a reading until the new sensor/mirror is calibrated. Just a thought?
