Exhaust ?

I have an early 99 and have a Banks exhaust system with the cat removed. When I have the camper on I get a pretty bad droan in the cab at certain RPM's. It is a 6 speed with a Banks tuner and a few other items. I am wondering if I should remove the muffler altogether or is there another manufacture that you guys like more for a muffler. Thanks for the help.

What kind of intake do you have? Sometimes the drone comes from there. Removing the muffler "normally" causes more drone from what I understand. I have the MBRP system, and I don't have drone, but I don't tow much either.

The exhaust probably isn't causing the drone unless it's rubbing on something. What do you have for an intake?
Edit- damn you and your fast fingers Joe

When you say intake are you talking about the air cleaner? if so I am running the updgraded Ford air cleaner and box but it was doing it before that. If I am not on the right track let me know.

Yes that is what we mean by intake. I'd check to see if your exhaust is rubbing somewhere. If not, you'll just have to live with the noise.

Would pulling the muffler out and welding a pipe in give me any advantage to HP etc. over leaving the muffler in?

Nope, just a little more noise.
