Just curious has any one used Sea Foam before and is it as good as the reviews say it is. Also, can any one tell me where the pcv valve is located in a 2004 F150. Apparently according to the directions it is supposed to be sucked threw pcv valve, added to gas and oil tank 1/3 in each. Does any one know where this valve is?? Thanks
I have used Sea Foam. Did it do any good? I really couldn't tell you. I read that a lot of people have used it without any problems. I put a can into a full tank of gas and run it through.
My experience with the stuff has been real good. I've used it in both my Expy's, my 'Stang and my F150 for rough idle, injector cleaning and just general internal conditioning. I run half to 3/4 a can through the brake booster vacuum line, 1/4 in crankcase (then change the oil a day or two later) and a full can in the tank. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find lots of info; lots provided by myself, so I won't bother repeating myself.
But, as Tylus points out, not everyone is comfortable with it.
If you have the 5.4L 3V Triton the PCV valve is located inside the valve cover and is not a replaceable part without replacing the valve cover. There is a line, rubber, I think that goes between your PCV and throttle body/air box.
Sea Foam is a great product, they've been around for many many years, including the last 30 years of fuel injected cars, and are definitely approved for use in modern cars. I buy it by the case of 24 for my vehicles.
Of coarse Ford isn't going to approve any product but theirs.....no manufacturer will approve something they aren't in the business of testing themselves.
