Knocking engine??
Still need help from yesterday's problem, I'll give the symptoms again...
Something is making a knocking noise, just replaced the crank and bearings, we checked the valve springs when we replaced the roller lifters, they're all good, it makes a VERY light clattering noise when I let off the gas which dies almost immediately, as i rev it up it just gets louder and more physical EXCEPT when it's in NEUTRAL and I hold it around 3k RPM, then the whole noise almost disappears completely!
Someone mentioned to me that it could be a loose flex plate and someone else said a torque converter.
Anyone got any ideas??

I think it was Dean88 that mentioned the loose flexplate. He may not be too far wrong. However I think I would check that the starter is not loose, Check any tin plates bolted to the bellhousing. Next I would pull the starter and have a close look at it. Next I would spoke the flexplate round a tooth in either direction and make sure the engine turns with it.
If all that checks out I would suspect a cracked flexplate, unfortunately something you may not be able to see.
Perhaps you could try to isolate where the noise is by holding a lenght of pipe to your ear while you use the other end to probe different locations.
