I recently installed a 4bbl in a 4.9L 300 and decided to install an electric fuel pump bypassing the mechanical one. However I am now running into problems with the wiring.
I have an 82 F-100. The basic package, nothing power, no A/C. I want to install a 4 prong relay between the battery and the pump but I cannot seem to figure out a wire to splice into that only gets power when the key is on.
I have the relay wired as follows.
I just cannot figure out where to hook up the #86 prong. The wire that should go to a computer or fuse box. I tried to tie it into the fuse box but it either ran constantly or not at all. I really need to get this working so if you can suggest a connection to make I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks.
