nobody knows why fords do this it is the second truck that has done this to me, the first one i changed the engine and the tach worked before i pulled the motorand didnt work after i put the new one in. now the truck i have i just did the gauge upgrade to get a tach in my truck and it sits at 2000 at idle and goes up as you drive it like it needs to be zeroed out but i dont think you can do that..
