I already have a 110 Volt arc welder. Father got it from Northern Tool and Equipment and it just didnt get hot enough for what he wanted to use it for so he got the 220 lincoln and gave me the 110 arc welder. I know this should be enough for thin sheet metal but just not sure if that stitch welder attachmen is really needed. I am also alittle weary of cutting the fender and welding in a lower patch. I was just thinking of afixing apiece of aluminum to the back of the fender and fill in the hole with body solder then shape it.
Some bead rollin woulda looked good in there. There's a thread going on on the HAMB right now with some incredible bead rolling.
If you/anyone wanna see what the Ford script looks like welded into a custom tailgate, check out the gallery on my box. It'sa 94'ish GMC smooth side box (narrowed 16 inches) with the Ford script welded into it. Well worth the effort.

The early Ford V8 script would look good as well.
Just my $.02 cdn
I just got through looking at your galleries. Great job!! Not many places on your truck that you haven't personalized. I also enjoy seeing fabrication threads.
I haven't made any final decisions yet on the center of the panel in the tailgate. The script looks great in your tailgate! I've still got a few styling features to work in so I guess I''ll wait until I get everything welded up. I do appreciate the suggestions. I always consider any new ideas.
I've been following the threads on the Hamb regarding bead rolling. Some of those guys are magicians when it comes to working metal and I'm glad they share their talents.
I don't consider myself to have any special skills, but I do appreciate all the encouragement from everyone. I'm just one of those guys that likes to build things.
A question i have is..... Do we have a list anywhere on this forum of all the Darksiders. I've gone back a couple years looking at threads trying to determine who the Darksiders are so that I can check to see if they have a gallery for their build. I really enjoy the fabrication threads and photos. Always like to see what other people are doing.

your right! the fabricating threads are the best! keep up the good work, can`t wait to see the truck finished !!
Great looking tailgate. That looks like one handy roll around work bench.
My roll around work bench was an old Air Force vacuum. I took the guts out, welded a metal top on it and mounted a vise. It's really handy for welding small items.
Very nice work on the tailgate. Any idea on what it will weight once you are done? You may need to re-enforce the hinges or the stake pocket where they attach to accomodate the extra weight.
