cluster question!
However... there are a few different clusters. There is a diesel set and a gas set. They have different indicator lights. There is an automatic set (with transmission temp sensor) and a manual set (voltage gauge instead of tran temp), etc. There may be other differences as well. The cluster is a programmed module, so there may be programming differences between the modules as well.
Given all that though, if you have the same gauges and lights, then most likely it would work, I would think.
On my model year, the console is connected to two of the data busses, the SCP bus and the UBP bus. The 2003 may or may not have those same busses and the 2006 may or may not have those same busses. If I understand it correctly, the trend is towards the newer CAN (Controller Area Network) bus. By '06, everything may be on it and the others may not exist. I just don't know, or know where to find out, short of having an '03 and an '06 service manual.
As to the boost gauge, boost data is carried on one of the networks. It is calculated based on the MAP sensor and the BARO sensor inputs.
