On the 2002-04 we have the HEC cluster. It can pull codes, but only instrument cluster codes, not PCM/obd2 codes. The procedure is to hold down the trip button, turn on the key, then the odo will show test. Release the trip button and push until you see some odd codes.

ANY help here would be appreciated. Especially with the one that reads the flashing FAIL.
If those are engine running, F should be engine coolant. BR is probably barometric pressure in volts (meaning 1.22v) Although, I didn't think we had MAP sensors. Batt is the electrical charge, it should be the same at the alternator and the battery. RHEO should be somekind of rheostat like the cluster illumination circuit 00 probably means the cluster lamps were off. Prnd is probably the gear selector and a variable voltage to show which gear the cluster believes your in.
The displays are either a 0-255 for voltage or hexadecimal for data, which is why you have a few with a letter and number.
DTC none means you have no error codes stored, Diagnostic Trouble Code. I don't know about the one that failed.
I have heard of folks pulling the codes via the odometer diplay in the cluster....who knows the procedure?
turn key to second position. Hold set and reset button down at the same time for 5-10 seconds. You’ll see the gauges swing and then use the trip selector on the cluster to navigate. It will tell you codes, fuel pressure, digital rpm and so on. I stumbled across this trying to reset my tcm
On my model year, 2014, and compatible year models, the console reset and navigation and the ignition is used to see a series of settings and resulting codes, but doesn't really show the engine/CPU codes.
With vehicle off, press the "ok" or enter button while turning the ignition to the accessory setting. Within a few seconds the setting dialog will appear and you'll let go of the "ok" button.
You can then toggle through the settings and codes.
You can start the engine while reviewing the codes. This will not necessarily reset any existing trouble codes, but is useful diagnostic information.
I'll try to shrink the videos I've captured of the settings on my vehicle.
If you do not know what you are doing, you will be doomed to waste considerable time and effort screwing around with the instrument cluster self tests. They are NOT a substitute for using a proper scan tool for diagnostic purposes as they are limited to only instrument cluster data and functions.
