I picked up a Dana 60 out of a 94 1ton and will start swapping it into my 94 250 tomorrow. Tomorrow I will pull the back axle to send in my springs to get re-arced and leafs added. Is this a good way to go? the guy at the spring shop said this should be fine. For the front I am getting new springs built, for a total lift of 8 inches. I will post pictures tomorrow. Will the calipers and rotors from my dana50 fit onto the dana 60?
yes... as long as you swap over the brake caliper brackets

Dangit!!! ya bursted my bubble....Im getting ready to put a 87 d60 in my 90 f250 and I could have sworn the calipers would interchange, but I just looked at the autzone site and sho nuff-differernt part numbers....whats differnt about them????...I just finished putting new axle joints, bearings/hubs and rotors on and I really dont want to tear it apart to swap brackets!!!
the 85.5+ king pin dana 60 shares the same slide pin setup to retain the brake calipers that the dana 50 uses. . .the ball joint dana 60 (you said it's a 94?) has a different knuckle with cast in place ears in the knuckle to accept bolts to retain the brake caliper. . .kind of like chevy calipers
BTW, good luck with the swap and post pics!! I'd be working on mine but it's raining out
