I finally got a line on the cross member for the rear of my 1949 M-47 truck frame. The previous owner intalled his own fabbed up part to replace this. Looked like his first fabrication and welding attempt. I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to rerivet a part of a frame and how it was done. Or has anyone a suggestion for replacing this ? I thought of bolting it in place but that would stand out with the rest rivetted. Any thought or suggestions would be great. Thanks, Greg M-47
Contact FTE member C-700. While restoring his 54 C-700, he re did the hot rivets in the frame (or at least most of them). He can answer any questions you may have on the subject. His name is Carl, tell him Joe in Oreogn sent you, and I am sure he'll be glad to help.
Thank you for the reply wmjoe1953. I'm new to this forum. How do I go about finding C-700 ?? Sure would be nice to hear how he did his rivet job. Greg M-47
