M5OD or ZF

I know most of you what it is like being short on the pocketbook but here is my question. Should I replace or rebuild my M5OD, which 3rd is about to go, or scrap up some extra $ and go to the ZF. Also can you change the gears in the M5OD between the 3 versions. I have my new motor which I want to tune to about 300 hp if possible and mainly plan for a street truck with some towing and mudding mixed in.

The ZF can handle 420lb-ft; I don't know of the spec for the M5OD, but I suspect it's LOWER.
