Broken rad fan.

Pulled my tire the other day only to find broken plastic wedged in the control arm. Popped the hood and found the fan has exploded at some point in time. I don't know if the P.O. got something jammed in there or if it ate a cat or something...

Dealer can get me a fan assembly for $281 canadian but say they can't sell a fan without the clutch. All local Parts stores only carry the clutch but not the fan... something kinda fishy going on here.

I've been on a mad junkyard hunt but am not having any luck.

I've got a 4.2 with A/C what will fit? There are a few junked trucks around with 4.6 engines and I'm seeing some expedition stuff on ebay but that looks metal. Just hoping somebody has had this experiance or maybe even two fords in the same driveway.

Need some help before this starts taking bearings out with it. Thanks in advance!

**Edit** Just noticed this post upgraded me to a "Freshman User" sweet!! only three more years before I find out what comes next!

Replacement fans are available online.
I often use online parts stores to learn about interchanges.

Example only, I don't work there:

I tried to check a few sites but the ones I was looking on didn't have fans listed. You're better at this game than me. Thanks for the speedy reply! Now I've gotta call one of the people junking v8 trucks and I'm set.

I've been looking at electric fans in case I couldn't find a replacement (better deal a than ford replacement) There's some nice looking kits out there but I've got too much invested in replacement parts already.
