Removing Emblems

How would one go about temporarily removing the FORD emblems on the hood and F100 Custom emblems on the sides?

These emblems are essentially just "friction fit", they have posts on the back that press into a couple of holes. I removed mine by gently working a putty knife (something with a thin, wide blade) and started prying it up evenly around all sides. Then it just pulls right out.

There are little plastic/rubber grommets that help secure them in the holes. Sometimes these will stay in the hole, other times they'll come out on the post. Just don't lose them...

A putty knife can work, but you have to be extremely careful with the paint when prying things. Other options are nylon pry-tools like those I got through Eastwood, but a cheap possibility is some high test nylon fishing line. You just take a length of it, and pull it under the edge of one of the letters, and pull outward. It may take some work and patience, but you're not prying against the metal, and have no chance of scratching the paint.

Just my $.02
