I'm still boosting, I dunno how much since I haven't put in a boost gauge yet, but, I'm thinking this is probably bad. I might need info on replacement parts.
It's not hitting anywhere, and the damage "appears" limited to what you can see in the pic. It's probably been like that since I bought the truck. I picked up on it when I replaced my throttle cable. Where can one get parts for these older 088s, assuming that the general consensus that it is the 088 is correct.
That is out of balance for sure time to rebuild before it comes apart ,also need to figgure what went thru it.
That is very much so not good. As everyone else has said, there is a serious balance issue. When you think about how fast that turbine spins, and the amount of pressure that makes it spin/resistance on turbine etc. you realize just how perfect it all needs to be. I wouldn't be driving that until I got another turbo on it, or fixed that one. When it flies apart, it won't be pretty. And it won't take much for it to do so.
I do agree with it needs rebuilt/replaced. I'm leaning towards rebuilt, since that "seems" to be less expensive than replaced. Question now, is where to get this done, or, can I obtain the proper parts (and where) and rebuild it myself?
Right on. Thanks guys. I'm going to get it handled as soon as I can. I appreciate the info. I figured it was bad, but I knew the folks here would tell me what needed to go down. It's appreciated.
