Hitch
The hitch on my truck is starting to rust around the joints and receiver inlet. What have others done to repaint this? I was planning to sand it down good, put on a primer and then repaint it. Not sure the best primer or paint to use. Spray or Brush? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

depends on how much money you want to spend. ideally would be take it off sandblast it and powder coat it. but if you have access to a sandblaster and air compressor it would hit all the rust very good then use a high quality primer/frame paint. my dad bought a gallon of industrial self etching metal rust paint a few years ago, and that stuff has worked great and the rust has never came back, he found it a the local napa and decided to buy that because it was cheaper then tremclad, and turned out to be much better

I'd take it off and have it sand blasted like mentioned. Then have it powder coated or even use some of that spay on bed liner on it.
