Fix or scrap?

I have a dilemma, My nephew crashed his 95 F-250 SC 4X4. He hit a guy head on at about 30MPH. He and his girlfriend were not seriously hurt, thankfully. The question I have is shoud I try to fix the truck or part/scrap it out. It had a 351, auto with 190000 miles, and rust in lower sc and all 4 wheel wells. It will need a radiator, core support, tranny cooler, grille, headlight, bumper, drivers side fender, slight bodywork of door, and a windshield. Should I try to resurrect her or put her out to pasture? I would post pics if I knew how!

It almost sounds like you should scrap/part her, but it is up to you. Personally, I would use her as parts for another project, but that is me.

Thats what I was originally thinking, but all it would take to get it running would be the radiator nad tranny cooler, it would be ugly, but functional!

If the truck was insured, (Hope it was) he should tell them he'll take whatever cash settlement there is & keep the truck. Take the slightly smaller amount & buy a lesser 4.9 or 5.0 version & swap all the better 5.8 stuff over to it. Part out the shell & strip for repair parts as needed then send it on to the recycler.

If not insured I'd do the same, but it'd mean a longer search for a cheaper replacement & time to save up the cash to do so.

Well, depending on what kind of shape your son is in for transportation, I would say throw a rad and tranny cooler in it and rig some headlights in her and giver it back to your son. If your son has another vehicle he can drive I would start looking for another truck that needs a motor or tranny and then make 1 good truck out of 2 bad ones.

But before giving it back you need to crank up your welder and weld spikes and steelplating on it and then spray paint the road warrior on it. (Its a dream of mine that I want to do with my 87 that I ran off the road into an irrigation ditch and jumped over 130 feet which ultimately bent every body panel and the frame in 3 places.)
