4160 Problems

I had checked and set everthing on that carb when a guy at the speed shop told me to check the mating surface. Run a file on it and saw what he ment. Put the body on the mill and machined where the float bowls seal and bottom at throttle body. The secondary bowl surface casting was over .017 off. I think that is where it was flooding thru the metering plate gasket. Would not recommend this fix but I had nothing to lose. Thanks for the replies, Tim

I had the same problem with an Ebay carb I bought, leaking all over on the idle circuit. It turned out the "excellent mechanic" who sold it to me put the wrong metering plates in with mismatched gaskets.BEWARE EBAY!!!!
