400 Start Up Noises
As the 400 in my '77 ages (70,000 mi.) it has begun to clatter on start up. It just takes about a minute to quiet down completely. It has to sit for a few days to start noisy. I'm guessing lifters? Can the lifters "bleed down" while sitting for a week? Is this a sign of anything serious, or any weakness I need to be concerned about?
I plan to leave on a 1500 mile trip with the camper soon. Just changed the oil (20-50 Castrol and a blue STP).
Expert opinions please.

Oil pressure is very good. Doesn't use any oil either. I used to have only one noisy lifter on start up and I got used to that, now I seem to have several. Otherwise the truck runs great, in spite of the 10mpg with the camper on.
