I had an Edge programmer for about 3 days and it didn't perform very well, engine stalling and rough idle. So the guys here on FTE suggested a DP tuner and just finished the install today. I should have known better because the original chip was 10 years old and was fried by a stealership, anyway in my opinion a programmer is easy to install and has some good points like reading and clearing codes however I don't think you can beat a "chip" especially the DP. I had it programmed for no start, stock, 60 econ. and 60 tow and I can get the pistons to swap holes, thanks again for lead.
Glad to hear you like it. Do the muffler delete and add the 6637 air filter and your are good to get the 120 and 140 tunes. You did not mention gages you will want these also.
OK, Now I have a question. A no start tune? is that for theft prevention I am assuming.
Sorry for asking such a simple question, but I have only had my diesel a few months and have not done anything as of yet since I am reading all I can. I never played with tuners/chips etc in any gasser, So I am still figuring all this out.....
Sorry to hi-jack, but inquiring minds (like me) want to know.....
Glad you like your DP. Definetly look into exhaust and intake, gauge mods like the guys said above, your have piece and mind plus your truck will be happier.. Just seen your post above Hab, yes, that no-start is a theft deterant, DP Tuner offers that tune for free when you order their chip.

Reason: just seen
Well that is some cool Chit..... Not that theft is a big problem here in Johnstown PA, but the DP has just jumped to top 3 upgrades..... Now, how much can I get away with before the wife notices......

Welcome to FTE there Pa. brother. Click on this>> DP-Tuner to learn more, if you haven't already. One or two mods arn't bad, its when the Powerstroke Mods Syndrome sets in that opens their eyes...
Thanks for the welcome.
I have the usual first mods planned, Zoodad, 6637, all the time saving $$ for gauges, exhaust, DP tuner, and I am really considering the Adrenaline..
Kick that K&N for a 6637!. I did, I'm not lookin back!!!
OK, tell me about the 6637, I see everyone got one, where they come from??? My truck is a 99, different airbox set up from the 2000 and up, will these fit??

Gauges def. on the list once I get my exhaust straightened out. I have a hard cap and a 80 gal fuel tank set under the cap, so stacks are out, looking to fab. side pipes. Do the Harley rallies and don't have to stop for fuel all the way to Daytona, fill the tanks in Jersey(cheapest state so far).

Your airbox may not be different. Most early birds were retrofitted to the late style intake. Best price on a 6637 is from Fleet Filter for just the filter. But then you need a piece of 4" exhaust tubing or 3" pipe coupler and a Pete's cover for it... best bet is to order a setup from Clay at Riffraff Diesel but you may get stuck with a girly yellow cover
