My insurance agent (naturally) put his daughter in a ultra-slow diesel Suburban. His logic was also that since she had the biggest car, her friends would ride with her, instead of the other way around.

Interesting logic. Get a bigger car so her friends ride with her rather than the other way around. A almost sure fire way to have the driver get in an accident from distraction. Of course she is in a Suburban which means the other driver is the one to get killed. I remember when I got my license and new car I drove 3 friends down to the bowling alley. There was so much distraction from them that they were banned from my car, and in fact everyone was banned from my car except for the occasional date in the front seat. I learned quickly that other teenagers in a car were dangerous to my health.

My sister bought a 2000 Focus ZX2 new in 2000. It's been a good little car for her, has about 125,000 miles on it. Only replaced a front wheel bearing. It's been aligned many times but still chews up rear tires faster than fronts. It's been in the ditch many times and it's held up well. She plans on keeping it until it dies.
