idle, but no throttle

I have a 2004 Ford F-250 6.0 Superduty, It will crank up and idle. as soon as you try to throttle up, it cuts off always at 1000rpm, Has anyone ever heard about this? It did this one time before and resolved itself. now it isn't.

Sounds like a throttle position sensor. I was told that on my 7.3 there is not an actual throttle cable from the pedal, but a wire and when the TPS goes out it will only idle. Not sure if its the same on the 6.0 but it sounds like it.

You have a bad TPS(Throttle Position Sensor), you can get just the sensor and related items to fix it or you can get a howl new pedal assembly. I would try FTE parts guy for prices and parts.

but it looks cheeper to just get the whole pedal assy
