Guys my core support broke and now i need a new one. Car Quest wants 250 at my Discounted cost. For those who have replaced it are there any instructions and also where did you get it
you have to remove the bumper and bumper filler, there are 3 bolts holding in the bumper filler one on each end and one in the middle. broncograveyard.com has a new core support for $160, part # 34202.
I would phone around and see if ya can find a better price... although 250 don't sound that bad...
I did the support to my truck as part of a front clip change and I had to remove everything... but I was replacing everything too. On your truck you'll have to remove the rad, header assay, grill, and all related wires and lighting will have to be removed... I'm pretty sure you can leave the bumper on. I've heard you can do it without removing the fenders and someone once said you can do it without evacuating the a/c... apparently you can leave it intact and pull it through the center of the support... cant say for sure though.
It's not a hard job to do as long as your aren't fighting rusty bolts... in which case a set of torches is handy.... most of the time the support bolts are pretty rusty so ya might have to replace them and maybe the bushings as well... and just so ya know the bolts for the headlight trim are behind the h/l assay and bolt through the support... you cant see them but if ya feel around you can find them... stupid dam place to put a bolt if ya ask me...lol.
