Clutch linkage question(s)

Ok, I've run into a little bit of an issue. I'm putting together a 460 (D1VE block, D3VE heads, etc.) The motor was originally attached to a C6 auto but it's going in a 4spd F250 (NP435 transmission). I bought a 460 flywheel thinking it was an early model one but come to find out it is the one used in the 90's model F250's. So...I'm wondering if I pieced the clutch set together would it work on my older F250 . Example: using the pressure plate from the 90's model F250 with a 460 but the disc, release bearing, and pilot bearing for the older F250's with a 460's like mine. Do you guys think this setup would work?

It sounds like you want to use the newer flywheel on the older engine . The newer engines - post '79 I think - are externally balanced while the older ones - like your '71 are internally balanced so it won't work unless you take your flywheel and get it neutral balanced

i would assume it would work. as long as the clutch disc diameter is the same. dont know if pressure plate bolt pattern would be same or not. id think it would be easier to just get the right flywheel and clutch set. Use a flywheel from a 360 or 390. it is neutral balanced. and should be easy to find.
