Cleaning injectors

What is the best way to clean you injectors without removing them. I've read some post that say to put atf and diesel kleen in the fuel filter or use sea foam in the fuel filter. Whats the best method to use. Also could dirty injectors be a possible reason for black smoke during acceleration and on hills? Or is it likely the ip. Ive noticed that the ip is an aftermarket pump ( a brand called ccl out of Canada) and is possibly for turbocharged applications. So should I try to turn it down a little. Any help would be great. Truck has good power and is getting 15-17 mpg's if this helps.

I always fill my filter with an additive when changing filters.
It could be your pump is turned up a little too much. The timing also affects the smoke issue.

How much black smoke, is the truck empty,? If its only smoking on acceleration, does that mean you have a quick heavy foot, or even if your gentle on it it smokes? I assume you are not turbo charged, mine isn't either, but if I really step on it it blows black, My IP is turned up some. Basicly the lighter you are on the pedal, the less it should smoke, shouldn't be a problem as the power is there if you use it. Milage really depends on city or highway. Mine gets around 14 in small town driving, but have got as good a 23 highway with an empty truck.

As long as you are not smoking at idle your injectors are likely fine. I always use kleenflow diesel lube with every fill up.

Hope this helps!

thanks for the info. It doesn't smoke at idle and only blows black smoke on a quick acceleration and on hills. and yes its a non-turbo.
