egr

I have a 1989 bronco with 302 i recieved a code 33 egr valve opening opening not detected. What problems or symptoms will this cause?

The truck will run like crap without the EGR, the EEC-IV system is looking for it. There is a sensor that sits on top of the EGR, it reports the state of it to the EEC. Opened or closed. Is your truck running okay? THe EGR may be doing it's job and the sensor is either toast or unplugged.

The truck seems to be running fine and it is plugged up ivnoticed the vacuum line to it is cracked could that cause the code?

An always open EGR would cause the truck to idle like crap. An always close EGR, and your average mileage may go down slightly if anything. If you are in a state where they pull codes rather than run your truck on the dyno to see if your computer is running correctly for smog check you will get a failure until it is corrected. As well as high nitrous emissions if it is run on the dyno.
