IF you have hard water, it is ok. My parents house it works perfectly. My place we have VERY hard water with a high uranium count and it still leaves spots. Not as many, but they are there. I just bring the buckets to the car wash early Sunday AM while everyone is at church so I dont get any flack.
I have used one on my truck for over a year now and it works very well. we have very hard water here and it does a good job of eliminating spotting. You do have to follow the instructions closely for best results, though.
cut the metal nozzle of the end of a hose. just let the water flow down the body panel. if it spreads out and is sheeting off, when it dries, no water spots
Ive used the auto dry, and it stays in my toolbox. I picked up one of those bucketless carwash kits at advance for 12 bux. Comes with a soap jet nozzle, wash mitt and a drying towel. But i used it the other day and i would suggest using a good soap, not advance auto brand kind of stuff. The towel they give you is awsome. I dried my windows and it didnt leave any water spots.
I've had one for a three or four years now. I've never really had any spots with it. i'm not a huge fan of their soap so i've been using meguiars in it. really makes the truck shiny compared to the mr clean soap. you probably want to make sure the soap doesnt have any those little ***** of wax or whatever those things are.
This may not be a easy solution but you could always get a white truck Alright I'll be serious now, I have not used it personally but my buddy uses it and he really likes it. I still think you can't beat hand drying the car though. Takes some time but I got the jellyblade which removes most of the water and then I get the remaining with a towel.
I have never used the Mr.Clean setup you are talking about. But I use Eagle Ones Nano-Polish on my black truck and the water sheets off so well I dont get spots at all. I would think no matter what your water is like, your wax should take the water right off. I also use my Leaf Blower from time to time to dry my truck off; works great to blow dry the wheels and tires so you can apply tire spray right away.

LOL thats funny. I have a white truck and its a b with an itch to keep clean. Mines dirty right now and i just washed it a week ago. My problem is my soap doesnt sud. What soap do yall use?
I use my gas powered leaf blower to dry it. I started using it on my Harley and it saves a lot of wiping down. Thought I'd give it a try on the F-150, and it works pretty slick. No spots after using that.

Haha, my household uses our leaf blower on our vehicles too, we thought we were the only ones from all the funny looks we get from passing vehicles. But it makes the drying process much easier.

No seriously, I really do think white is the easiest to keep clean. Unless your driving around in the mud then the little stuff like dust and water spots really don't show up. Maybe you just don't know how to wash your truck
