What mods do you have done to your truck?
#17
Well right now, it doesn't see too much light of day. Its more of a 2-3 times a month hauler and the occasional "special occasion" trip to school in it.
But as for the finish, I was planning on applying 3-4+ coats of polyurethane. What did you do to protect the mahogany mstiles?
I chose the walnut because I have a few boards left over from when they built the hard-wood floors. Its "special" wood because it came from a tree on our property and dad had it cut/kilned dried/milled to use as flooring. Also all the floor, window, door, etc. moldings came from our own trees.....kinda neat

lets see here, on my 86 F150...
351 bored .030 over (truck started life with a 300 six), Eagle Forged crank, h beam rods, and dished pistons. Crane xtreme energy cam. Although my sig says gt40s shes now sporting at set of World Products Windsor Sr heads. Weiand stealth intake, holly 650. Msd 6A box, billet distributor, and coil. Becool monster 4row radiator, 24 inch junk yard find electronic fan w/ home made shroud. Smog pump deleted, egr deleted, cats deleted, pcv deleted, and all but 3 vacuum lines deleted. Basically she complies with zero smog regulations now, just the way I like it.
Rebuilt C6, dominator torque converter, B&M racing manual valve body, B&M truck floor shifter (not yet installed) finned high capacity tranny plug w/ drain plug. 12x18 inch Becool tranny fluid cooler.
Headman long tubes, 2.5 inch true duals with glasspacks, exits through 3 inch chrome tips infront of the rear tires.
3G 130 amp alternator, 1200 CCA battery, zero gauge cables, hi torque starter. head light relay mod. Autometer oil pressure, volt meter, water temp, tranny temp, and vacuum gauges. Sony explode CD deck and speakers, 6.5 inch 4-ways in the doors and 4-way 6x9s behind the seat.
I've rewired everything from the alternator to the tail lights. I've replaced every piece of the fuel system. I've replaced or re-engineered every piece of the braking system. I've upgraded the front brakes to 2 piston F250 calipers with high performance pads and slotted rotors.
Ive added front and rear sway bars, they're rebuilt stockers from a F250. I've added several leafs the the rear springs along with a set of overloads, I've also added F250 front springs. I've replaced every bushing with poly aftermarket units
I rebuilt the 9 inch rear, added 3.73 gears and a true track locker.
I don't even wanna know how much money I've spent on that truck, all the work has been done by myself over a matter of about 8 years, I've had this truck since I was 17. Since the body is starting to look like absolute hell I'm gather parts for a 92-96 era facelift, as long as a 92-96 era cab and bed swap. I'm in to deep now, might as well keep her forever lol.
As for my 96 F150 shes currently under the knife. I just finished rebuilding/refreshing the bottom end of my 5.0 this last weekend. Over the next few weekends I'll be installing a set of gt40 heads, '93 cobra upper and lower intake, BBK 75mm throttle body, E303 cam, and dynomax coated long tubes. A buddy of mine is gonna rig me up a 2.25 inch dual exhaust system with no cats, and a set of Corsa DB Black series mufflers.
I've already done several small things to that truck. Installed a cd player, pioneer speakers and 500 watt amp. Added a soft tonneau cover, although I've had a hard fiberglass cover sitting in my basement waiting for paint for quite a while. Had a Line-x bed liner installed, added a few gauges, mudflaps, and I'm sure several other little things I cant think of at the moment.
And I have a 82 F100 laying around my garage in a few thousand pieces. I've got a complete rust free body frankensteined outta several mismatched colored pieces. I've also got all the pieces for a 460/c6 swap, and a 3/5 drop. Just need to find the time to put the damn thing together. That's the first vehicle I ever owned, been with me since I was 15. Started taking it apart a few years ago when the engine blew, just haven't got around to putting it back together yet. I'd hate to know how much money I've sank into that thing too. Its worth it though, just couldn't stand the thought of my first love going to the junkyard.
