460 knock
Hi everyone I have a 89 superduty with a 460. It started making a knocking noise the other day. The noise seems to be front passenger side front of motor.Oil pressure at start up is 80 psi @ idle when warm drops to 30 psi @ idle but goes up to 70 psi when i raise rpms. Also noise seems to go away or lesson under load Does this sound like a bad bearing All help will be appreciated Thanks

Usually bad bearings are accompanied by a loss in oil pressure. Could be a bad main, rod, or wrist pin. If you're sure it's not a valve/rocker noise then I'd pull the pan and check your bearings. I know that's a pain in these trucks, but I don't see any other option.

Well im not sure its not a valve rocker it seems to loud and not the usual ticking noiseoil pressure seems good as mentioned above. It does nit make niose at first start up or during acceleration so i thought maybe rod bearing. one thing i was just told is they drove the truck a week or 2 with 3 plug wires off could this have caused anything
