Where?

Where did the "CH" in venTuri come from. Did somebody not want to pronounce the T in venturi?

Actually, it is pronounced with a t and not a ch sound-at least in Texas.

Yeah, I don't pronounce it with a "Ch" sound. Although, I have heard many say it that way. I think once one hears it, its just has the snowball effect. I was just curious if anybody had a clue.

I do know that it is the last name of the guy that discoverd the effect. So I guess that the proper pronouncication is however that guy pronounced his name.

He was an Italian physicist named Giovanni Battista Venturi. So any Italians out there that can chime in on the proper pronouncication?

I'm of Sicilian heritage but no good with all those phonetic markings so I can try and spell it out phonetically.

Let's not forget Bernoulli's contributions to this matter.

Black hole?

The SU's on my fathers MGA sucked and were always out of adjustment but many late '70's and early '80's bikes did just fine with CV carbs.

On edit; or are you talking about the "Predator"??

I had a 79 Merc 302 with one should have ripped that thing off and put a 4 barrel intake on it.

Or just replaced it with a Motorcraft 2150 2bbl if you felt lazy, direct swap.....2700 VV motorcraft had to be the worst carb. Ford ever put on a engine.
