Alright guys my dad owns a 1996 ford f150 with a inline six and the cats are almost pluged all the way she is dawging severly. Here in the mid west we dont have emission checks and a new cat is $353.79 to $430.79 and i can pick up o2 simulators for a $100 for the OBDII computer. What will I need for pipe to run from efi headers through perferably stock muffler and turn it out before back tire. What length of pipe angle of bends also anyone done it before? Look at a magnaflow 93302. It comes with a cat and it's stainless steel and it's just over $200.00. You would need to add your own muffler and a turnout pipe from the auto parts store is all.

Try cutting the old one out and welding a new one in.

UNIVERSAL CATALYTIC CONVERTER : JC Whitney: Auto Parts & Accessories

That one is $60. Just because you aren't required to have one, doesn't mean you shouldn't. They really do help.

A lot of people also don't like the sound of the 300 without them.

Do a search on Summit Racing...several less expensive Cats listed or try www.bearriverconverters.com. They advertise on this site.

As far as what you need, get a measuring tape and note book, crawl under it and get 'er done.
