As I see more and more of these trucks, I've noticed a good many home made rear bumpers - some kind of crappy, some actually pretty cool, some more functional than others (tow hitches, hook-ups for a grader blade, hay baler, etc).

I just shortened mine. I cut about 4 inches off each eand and re-welded it. I still need to add a recess at the license plate with a hidden hitch behind it, but I don't whack my shins every time I walk behind it anymore!

I took a pair of 70 - 73 Camaro RS front bumperettes and lengthened each by about 4 inches. Using the same treatment on the front. (so altogether that's 4 pair of bumperettes for one truck.....being different ain't cheap.... )
