Howdy from Pittsburgh, PA. I hope everyone had a safe and happy weekend.
It almost brought a tear to my eye when I put the top back on the Bronco yesterday. She can't sit topless in a parking lot for 8 days. But ... next Monday ... it's coming back off. First priority will be to rig a system in the garage so that I can back in, hoist it off, and drive away. My wife isn't much help with the top (it's a bit too heavy for her), and she won't let me do it by myself.
Keep the skies clear for me. I get rain today, tomorrow, Wednesday, and Sunday.
I looked them up online. Looks great, except for the price. Can't do $390. I can dream about it ... but can't do it.
Get some garage door track and some wheels. Hang a strong piece of plywood, about the size of the top on the rails with wheels attached. Buy some pulleys and rope. (Larger diameter pulleys make less effort to pull the rope. Make a sling for the top with a hook at the balance point. Arrange your pulleys to give a big mechanical advantage and you are in business. Lift the top up clear of the Bronc and push it to the back of the garage where it will be out of the way.
