Cleaning and such ... yes, that will be my day today since I finished painting the kitchen yesterday.
I will never understand why we don't just let our close friends and family see our homes for what they are, but ... whatever. I never will. Dust will always be there.
My 2 month unpaid vacation starts after this trip. I will be gone for 3 days in mid-May to help out during a tight weekend, but otherwise I should be off until early July. That gives me about 8 weeks to paint 2 more bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a hallway.
You'll never understand it Rob, hell I am a woman and I don't understand it but it is prewired in us that if someone is coming over the house must be spotless/dustless. At least your time off is right in line with your wifes summer break from school!! I'm sure she will have lots of honey do's for you to do over that 8 weeks. lol.
Well it's good to know that even women don't understand it. I guess...
Yes, the break will be nice for both of us. The company asked for people to take 5 months off; I offered 2 and they accepted. I wanted May & June so that we still have one paycheck (hers) for one of those months. We just finished a refi on the house, so no payment in May. That'll help. I think we'll be doing a lot of sitting by the pool, though I am hoping to do a road trip. Camp grounds are free.
Max, our chiweenie, is recovering nicely from the surgery. You can tell that he's not quite the same guy by looking in his eyes, but he's alive, he walks & runs (much to our chagrin), and only has the slightest wobble in the rear every now and again. His disposition is much better, too, now that the pain is gone. Knowing what we know now, there had been signs of this for 2-3 months before it happened.
As for painting the outside of the house ... I'll leave that to the professionals.
