Pulling this fuse makes it stop but then I can't put the truck in gear. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?
I would swap out the Accessory Delay Relay with a known good relay and see if that helps. Use the horn relay, which is just above it, and can be tested easily beforehand. If that doesn't help, try deactivating the ignition key sensor circuit.
The wire to the ignition switch key sensor may be shorted. This is the black wire with a pink tracer that goes from the ignition lock to the GEM module. The clean way to eliminate it (along with the chime when the door is open) is to take the panel below the steering wheel (the one you access the fuses from) off and look back in the right side above the accellerator pedal. You will see come connectors. You want the brown one. Unplug it and look for the black/pink wire. It should be in one corner of the connector.
The quick way is to cut the wire. I chose to take the plug apart and remove the terminal, then taped it up and left it in case someone else wanted it working again. To take the plug apart, look for the red plastic "wedge" in the middle. Pry it out using a small screwdriver through the slots in the side of the body. Once you get it sticking up enough, pull it out with needle-nose pliers. Then take the small screwdriver and pry the chosen terminal toward the center of the plug. Pull it out the back and tape it up. Replace the red wedge and put everything back together.
With any luck, this will solve your other problems. If not, then you may have something telling the GEM to keep the Accessory Delay Relay "hot". Many things can do that, but the driver's door switch is an important one.
